Znotina wins tender for chief of Financial Intelligence Unit

RIGA, May 13 (LETA) - Current Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) director Ilze Znotina won the tender for FID director, LETA learned form the State Chancellery.

The tender was held in three stages. Eight candidates have applied for the position of the chief of the Financial Intelligence Unit.

Znotina took office on June 1, 2018 as a candidate handpicked by then prosecutor general Eriks Kalnmeiers. Znotina was appointed FIU chief for a four-year term, which expires on May 31, 2022.
