Berzins to Go on Working Visit to Canada and United States

Today, President Andris Berzins will go on a working visit to Canada and later to the United States.

The president will visit Canada by the initiative of the Latvian side with the aim of deepening bilateral relations, especially economic relations, as well as exchange points of views about regional and international affairs, LETA was informed by the Presidential Press Service.

While in Canada, Berzins will visit Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. He will also meet with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Governor General David Johnston, as well as other officials. The Latvian president will also visit the ''Bombardier'' airplane manufacturer and have a working luncheon with the company's president. Meanwhile, during his visit to Vancouver, Berzins will attend the opening of the honorary consulate in Vancouver. Latvia currently has honorary consuls in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.
