RIGA, July 28 (LETA) - From today, the National Armed Forces (NAF) also invites women to apply for service in the Headquarters Battalion's Honor Guard Company, which provides the Honor Guard at the Freedom Monument and Riga Castle, LETA was informed by the NAF.

The Honor Guard Company is the most visible subunit of the NAF, providing an Honor Guard at the Freedom Monument and Riga Castle, as well as participating in representative events of national importance, welcoming high-ranking guests and representing Latvia in international military events.

The peacetime task of the Honor Guard Company is representing the NAF, demonstrating military presence and readiness for defense, as well as promoting the recognition of the Armed Forces in society and the education of patriotism.
