RIGA, July 29 (LETA) - The temporary fencing on the Latvia-Belarus border fully fulfills its function, moreover, border guards have prevented approximately 6,800 attempts of people trying to cross the border illegally, Minister of the Interior Kristaps Eklons (For Development) stated during a visit to State Border Guard facilities in Latgale.

Eklons visited State Border Guard facilities in Latgale, as well as the Latvia-Belarus and Latvia-Russia border, on a working visit this week.
