Task of LRA, LZP and Liepaja Party is to change Latvia's status as weakest link of Baltic chain - Pilens

RIGA, May 10 (LETA) - The main task of the united ticket of Latvia's Green Party (LZP), Latvia's Association of Regions (LRA), Liepaja Party and non-partisan organization will be to change Latvia's status as the weakest link in the Baltic chain, said one of the new political platform's initiators Uldis Pilens in a press conference today.

Pilens also invited other parties with similar values to join the new platform.

Pilens said that patriotism is not the value of just the National Alliance, liberal values is not a matter represented just by For Development/For, representation of interests of the Russian-speaking population in Latvia is not just a monopoly of Latvia's Union of Russians or Harmony party.

In order to solve Latvia's largest problem - management capacity - candidates on the united ticket should include business representatives, state officials, medics, farmers and representatives of other sectors, including non-partisan professionals. He said that the goal of the united ticket is to achieve higher intellectual capacity at the parliament.
