Sportland sporting goods retailer reports 10.6% increase in sales last financial year

RIGA, July 22 (LETA) - In the last financial year, May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022, sporting goods retailer Sportland operated with EUR 41.455 million in turnover, an increase of 10.6 percent on the previous financial year, as the company's profit increased by 49.3 percent amounting to EUR 5.005 million, according to Firmas.lv.

Sportland's annual report says that Covid-19 restrictions came into effect again last financial year in Latvia and many other countries, which had a significant impact on the economic development of the country and the world. Sportland stores were closed, which accordingly affected the company's retail turnover.

To make matters worse, Russia's invasion of Ukraine this past February has significantly changed the political and economic situation in the world, and it definitely affects the economies of the Baltic countries as well.
