SmartLynx plans to invest up to EUR 50 million in its fleet this year

RIGA, May 26 (LETA) - Latvia-registered company SmartLynx Airlines (SmartLynx) plans to invest up to EUR 50 million in expanding its fleet, SmartLynx board member Zygimantas Surintas told LETA.

In March, the airline announced that it plans to increase its fleet to 60 aircraft. In March the company had 33 planes, five were delivered in April, and the remaining 22 will be delivered until the end of the summer season.

Surintas said that the company's investments might reach EUR 50 million. He underscored that SmartLynx is not buying the planes, but leases them.
