Several Latvian cities and towns to host activities for Latvian and Ukrainian families with children

RIGA, July 28 (LETA) - In order to promote integration of Ukrainian families in Latvia, a number of Latvian cities and towns will host events and activities for Latvian and Ukrainian families with children, organized by 11 non-governmental organizations, as the Society Integration Fund's (SIF) representative Zane Jekabsone informed LETA.

She said that Riga, Liepaja, Ventspils, Valmiera, Preili, Ogre, Edole and Ziemellatgale would host such activities as camps, hikes and excursions, creative workshops, discussions, Latvian language and culture classes, and others.

ccording to Jekabsone, the projects have been selected through a competition and are aimed at promoting social cohesion, strengthening the feeling of belonging of Ukrainian families to Latvia, promoting learning of the Latvian language and culture.
