Vl-tb/lnnk Says Calls for Jaunzeme-grende to Step Down Are 'without Merit'

All For Latvia!-For Fatherland And Freedom/LNNK (VL-TB/LNNK) believes that talk about possibly replacing Culture Minister Zaneta Jaunzeme-Grende is without merit, as VL-TB/LNNK Press Secretary Laila Ozolina told LETA.

This is particularly true now that the minister, and VL-TB/LNNK, have convinced the government to allot more than LVL 10 million in extra funds to culture, Ozolina pointed out.

What the culture minister has achieved - and her efforts are still under way, is much more important than discussion about the establishment of a board at "just one company supervised by the Culture Ministry." If the government has decided that the culture minister bears full responsibility for the management of the Latvian National Opera and its operations, then doubts about the minister's decisions are unfounded.
