Rigas Siltums has started purchasing woodchip on Baltpool to stabilize prices

RIGA, May 23 (LETA) - Rigas Siltums municipal heating company in May started operations on international biomass market Baltpool in order to stabilize prices, LETA learned from the company.

During the first two weeks of May, the company procured 1,500 MWh of woodchip. In the future, Rigas Siltums plans to increase its woodchip procurement on Baltpool.

The company's board member Raivis Ellins said that specialists are looking for new ways of purchasing fuel in order to stabilize the heating tariff and diversify the range of suppliers.
