Revenue Service paid out EUR 89.6 million during 3rd support period of Covid-19 pandemic

RIGA, May 3 (LETA) - During the third support period of the Covid-19 pandemic, from October 2021 to February 2022, the State Revenue Service paid out EUR 89,561,566 in crisis support to businesses and individuals hit by the Covid-19 crisis, LETA was told at the Revenue Service.

EUR 19,375,400 of this amount has been paid out as wage subsidies to employees, self-employed persons and payers of patent fees who had to work part time due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, EUR 70,186,166 have been disbursed to crisis-hit companies in working capital grants.

The need for state support was especially pressing in October and November 2021. The sums disbursed in December, January and February were considerably smaller.
