Revenue Service officials and European commissioner discuss impact of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

RIGA, July 22 (LETA) - The State Revenue Service Director General Ieva Jaunzeme and National Customs Board Director Raimonds Zukuls on Friday met with the visiting European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union Mairead McGuinness to discuss the impact of the sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus and challenges in enforcing the sanctions in Latvia, LETA was informed by the Revenue Service.

Customs officers' workloads have increased substsantially, however, professionalism and materiel of Latvian customs makes Jaunzeme confident in compliance with the sanctions.
