Prosecutor General's Office brings charges against Belarusian citizen for spying

RIGA, Aug 4 (LETA) - The Prosecutor General's Office has brought charges against a Belarusian citizen who has been spying in Latvia for the Belarusian military intelligence.

The case is being investigated by the Prosecutor General's Office, the office's spokeswoman Ieva Somina told LETA.

The crime carries a jail term of up to ten years and a probation of up to three years.

The case might be handed over to the court in September.

s reported, the State Security Service (VDD) in cooperation with the Military Intelligence and Security Service in February detained a Belarusian citizen in suspicion of spying for Belarusian special services.
