Progressives do not see any way in which they could work together with Harmony, Latvian Union of Russians and populist parties

RIGA, July 30 (LETA) - In an interview with the prime minister candidate of the Progressives, Kaspars Briskens, he told LETA that his political party does not see any way in which it could work together with Harmony, the Latvian Union of Russians (LKS) and the ''demagogic populist parties''.

In the political spectrum of Latvia, there are forces that use the fragmentation of society to increase their political capital, said the politician. "We saw how LKS and Harmony used the events of May 9 and 10 not to unite society, but to divide society even more."

"On the other side, we see all these demagogic populist parties, which do not have a clear vision for Latvia, but which very actively provoke society to new confrontations, while not offering any solutions," believes the politician. "We see that there are a lot of loud words on this side of the populist flank, a lot of sharp criticism, which appeals to people's anger, which appeals to people's dissatisfaction with the country's development so far, but nothing further is offered.
