PM Karins visits Cesis production plant assembling Patria armored vehicles

RIGA, May 27 (LETA) - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) during a working visit to Cesis on Friday arrived at a production plant assembling Patria 6x6 armored vehicles, LETA was told at the Cesis Town Hall.

Patria representatives informed the prime minister about the production plant's operations, cooperation with the Defense Ministry and the production of military transport vehicles for the Latvian armed forces. The company's representatives presented a project providing for construction of a new production plant in Cesis that would ensure a full circle vehicle assembly.

During his visit to Cesis, Karins opened a new agricultural equipment and vehicles repairs and diagnostics center at Vidzeme Technology and Design School and met with the school's teachers and students.
