Number of flights handled by Latvian air traffic controller LGS up 55.7% in seven months

RIGA, Aug 5 (LETA) - Latvian air traffic controller Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS), which is responsible for managing air traffic in Latvia, handled 114,120 flights in January-July 2022, up 55.7 percent from the same period a year ago, the company said.

The January-July figure included 30,524 flights to and from Riga, up 96 percent year-on-year, and 83,596 transit flights, up 44.8 from January-July 2021.

In July this year, LGS handled a total of 18,174 flights, which is 1.2 percent more than in July 2021. This...
