Natural gas to Kaliningrad region to be supplied via Latvia until early June

RIGA, May 23 (LETA) - During the reconstruction of the Minsk-Vilnius gas pipeline, natural gas to Russia's Kaliningrad exclave will be supplied via Latvian territory until June 8, according to information released by Latvian natural gas transmission and storage operator Conexus Baltic Grid (Conexus).

The reconstruction and repair works on the Minsk-Vilnius pipeline are affecting the operation of the Kotlovka entry-exit point, which is why gas supplies are organized from the gas metering station Izborsk via Latvia and Lithuania to the gas metering station Shakiai.

ccording to information on Conexus' website, Latvia approved 365 gigawatt hours (GWh) of natural gas nominations from Russia via the Izborsk connection from May 16 to 22. A week before, from May 9 to 15, Latvia received no natural gas from Russia.
