Nato Jets in Baltics Scrambled Once Last Week Over Russian Military Plane

VILNIUS, March 4 (LETA--BNS) -NATO fighter-jets patrolling Baltic airspace were scrambled once last week to identify and escort a Russian military plane in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

The Alliance's jets on February 28 intercepted aTU-134 transport plane flying from mainland Russia to its Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad.
