National acoustic concert hall could be constructed by 2029

RIGA, May 20 (LETA) - The national acoustic concert hall could be built by 2029, today city council members of the Riga City Council Property Committee were informed.

City council members supported the conclusion of an agreement with the Ministry of Culture (MoC) on the construction of a National Acoustic Concert Hall on the site of the Congress Building in Riga. The final decision on the agreement must be made at a Riga City Council meeting.

The agreement envisages supporting the construction of the National Concert Hall at the Riga Congress Building, covering the land plots affected by the project, the buildings on them and the underground car park.

s Dace Vilsone, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, explained to the city council members, according to the time schedule set in the negotiations with the parties involved, the construction works are expected to start at the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. The construction process would take about three years.
