Ministry of Interior needs to work much harder on coordinating Ukrainian refugee matters - PM

RIGA, May 23 (LETA) - According to Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity), the Ministry of the Interior, as the ministry responsible for this area, should work much more intensively on the coordination of Ukrainian refugee issues between state institutions, non-governmental organizations and local governments.

The Prime Minister met with representatives of non-governmental organizations providing assistance and support to Ukrainian refugees on Monday. During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the representatives of the organizations for their tremendous work on behalf of the Ukrainian civilian population.

fter the meeting, Karins pointed out that during the meeting it became clear that the biggest uncertainties were about the interpretation and implementation of regulations on support measures for refugees, as well as about coordination between various institutions and non-governmental organizations.
