Lithuanian border guards turn away 14 irregular migrants on border with Belarus

Lithuanian border guards have in the past 24 hours turned away 14 migrants attempting to cross into the country from Belarus illegally, the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) said on Tuesday morning.

This follows three successive days of no recorded illegal crossing attempts.

Latvia registered no attempts to cross into the country illegally on Monday. Polish border guards on Sunday refused entry to 27 irregular migrants.

A total of 1,635 people have been prevented from crossing from Belarus into Lithuania at non-designated places so far this year. Some 2,617 such attempts...
