Lithuania's Politicians Share Different Views on Restoration of Salaries

Not all partners of the ruling coalition shared the same views on the procedure of the implementation of the Constitutional Court's verdict to restore the salaries of the civil servants.

Deputy Chairman of Order and Justice (Lithuanian: Tvarka ir Teisingumas) and Minister of Environment Valentinas Mazuronis said that the procedure, according to which the salaries were to be restored for the high earners at the first place, was unfair.

Lithuania's Ministry of Finance tabled a law draft for the Government. The low draft regulated the procedure of the restoration of the salaries of the civil servants which was reduced in 2009.

As the Constitutional Court has noted, the salaries of the civil servants and judges should be restored from October 1.
