Liquefied ammonia cargo removed from Ventspils Port - Environmental Service

RIGA, May 23 (LETA) - A liquefied ammonia cargo, which had to be removed from a sanctioned terminal at the Freeport of Ventspils, has been removed from the port, the State Environmental Service's public relations officer Aija Jalinska told LETA.

The Environmental Service has instructed Ventamonjaks to remove ammonia technological residue from the terminal. The company told the service that it had enough finances to ensure further operations, and there were no security threats.

The Environmental Service continues to cooperate with Ventamonjaks to suspend operations of the terminal and its conservation.
