LGS air traffic controller will need almost EUR 10 million support from state this year

RIGA, May 11 (LETA) - In relation to reduction in revenue, Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS) this year might need about EUR 9.8 million support from the state, said LGS board chairman Davids Taurins in an interview with LETA.

LGS main revenue comes from transit flights through Latvia's air space. About 30 percent of income comes from flights to and from Latvia, and 70 percent from transit flights. Of the transit flights guided by LGS, 70 percent were going through Russia's air space. After Russia's air space was closed, LGS revenue dropped by 50 percent.
