Latvijas Pasts postal company to hike postage rates by 13% in 2023

RIGA, July 20 (LETA) - Latvijas Pasts national postal company plans to raise postage rates for letters, postcards and small parcels by an average of 13 percent from next year, while the postage rate for larger parcels will go up 7 percent, LETA was told at the company.

"High general inflation in Latvia and internationally and the steep rise in energy prices in particular, which has pushed up cross-border and domestic transportation costs, is significantly threatening Latvijas Pasts' ability to fulfil its obligations as the universal postal service (UPS) provider in 2023 if the current UPS rates remain unchanged," the company's representatives said.
