Latvian producer prices surge 30.1% y-oy in June

RIGA, July 21 (LETA) - Latvian producer prices in June 2022 surged 30.1 percent against the corresponding period a year ago, the Central Statistical Bureau informed.

Prices of products sold on the domestic market soared 44.1 percent, and prices of exported products were up 18.5 percent. Prices of products exported to euro area countries went up 23.2 percent and prices of products exported to non-euro area countries rose 14.6 percent.

The rise in producer prices were driven primarily by price hikes in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture); manufacture of food products; manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) as well as manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products had the most significant impact on the producer prices.
