Latvian government consolidated budget has EUR 82.5 million deficit in four months

RIGA, May 26 (LETA) - The Latvian government consolidated budget in the first four months had a deficit worth EUR 82.5 million, which is by EUR 591.5 million lower than in the respective period last year, LETA learned from the Finance Ministry.

s the economy keeps growing, the revenue in the consolidated budget in the first four months of this year accounted for EUR 4.5 billion or by EUR 602.2 million or 15.3 percent more year-on-year. Expenditure, considering the high expenditure level last year, rose by EUR 10.7 million or 0.2 percent to EUR 4.6 billion.

The government support payments reached EUR 406.4 million or by EUR 252 million less than in the first four months of last year. Meanwhile, the government special budget accumulated EUR 87.7 million in surplus, while surplus in municipal budget reached EUR 164.6 million.
