Latvian and Polish ministers agree to expand cooperation in cargo transshipment

RIGA, July 21 (LETA) - Transport Minister Talis Linkaits (Conservatives) and Polish Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk have agreed to expand cooperation in cargo transshipment, LETA was told at the Latvian Transport Ministry.

Linkaits in a telephone call with Adamczyk on Thursday discussed cooperation between Latvian and Polish ports.

ccording to the ministry's representatives, the Polish minister inquired about the Latvian ports' capacity for coal import to Poland. Linkaits assured him that the Latvian ports are highly experienced in handling coal cargo, as historically, over 23 million tons of coal have been shipped through the Latvian ports a year. The...
