Latvian and Greek presidents to meet in Riga to discuss security and cooperation matters

RIGA, May 24 (LETA) - Celebrating the centenary of diplomatic relations between Greece and Latvia, the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou and her husband Pavlos Kotsonis will pay an official visit to Latvia from June 1 to 3, Justine Deicmane, Head of the Media Center of the Office of the President, informed LETA.

She points out that with special emphasis on the security situation in Europe, President Egils Levits will discuss with the President of Greece issues related to Russia's war in Ukraine, the future of Europe and cooperation between Latvia and Greece.

On the first day of the visit, June 1, there will be an official welcoming ceremony for the President of Greece and her husband in the square next to Riga Castle, talks between the delegations of the two countries and a flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument.

On the second day of the visit, June 2, the President of Greece is scheduled to meet with Janis Sarts, Director of the NATO Center for Strategic Communication Excellence...
