Latvia to donate Covid-19 vaccines worth EUR 16.6 million to Nicaragua

RIGA, May 3 (LETA) - Latvia will donate 849,420 doses of the Comirnaty vaccine to Nicaragua to help curb the spread of Covid-19 globally, LETA was informed by the Ministry of Health.

ccording to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the total value of Covid-19 vaccine doses is EUR 16,563,690.

The decision to donate vaccines was made taking into account the epidemiological situation in Latvia and the end of the phase of active vaccination against Covid-19.

The Covid-19 pandemic is currently experiencing a significant surplus of vaccines in certain regions of the world, leading to large-scale donations, especially to the world's poorest countries and countries in the southern hemisphere. The vaccine...
