Latvia to donate ambulance to Ukrainian hospital, as well as diving equipment and fire-fighting foam concentrate

RIGA, May 24 (LETA) - The Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) will donate one emergency medical vehicle to Boriyspil Hospital in Ukraine, the government decided on Tuesday.

ccording to an order prepared by the Ministry of Health, the NMPD had handed over two ambulances to Boriyspil Hospital on April 7, but both vehicles are no longer being used to transport hospital patients because they are out of order and repair costs, according to estimates, reach around USD 14,000.

Consequently, on April 27, the NMPD had received a request from Boriyspil Hospital to donate an emergency medical vehicle included in the list of needs prepared by the Emergency Services of Ukraine, which has passed the verification system of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
