Latvia's H1 budget revenue up 13% y-o-y; deficit shrinks

RIGA, July 27 (LETA) - Latvia's government consolidated budget in the first six months of 2022 ran a deficit of EUR 227.1 million, which shrank by EUR 726.5 million from the respective period a year ago, LETA was told at the Finance Ministry, whose representatives cited Treasury data.

In the first half of 2022, Latvia's budget revenue grew by EUR 773.1 million or 12.9 percent against the same period a year ago to EUR 6.8 billion.

Meanwhile, budget expenditure grew by EUR 46.6 million or 0.7 percent to EUR 7 billion. Last year, by comparison, Latvia's budget expenditure increased by 23 percent against 2020 because of Covid-19 related expenses.
