Latvia's construction output down 8.4% in Q1

RIGA, May 10 (LETA) - In the first quarter of 2022, compared to the first quarter of 2020, Latvia's construction output decreased by 8.4 percent, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices, the Central Statistical Bureau informed Tuesday.

Construction of buildings was down 7.1 percent, output in civil engineering dropped 15.8 percent, and specialized construction activities slowed 7.7 percent.

Output declined across all groups of the civil engineering segment: by 14.8 percent in construction of roads and railways, by 13.9 percent in construction of utility projects and by 34.9 percent in construction of other civil engineering projects.
