Latvia has received no gas from Russia following Gazprom's announcement

RIGA, Aug 1 (LETA) - Latvia has received no gas from Russia after Russian gas giant Gazprom announced last weekend that was halting gas supplies to Latvia, according to information available on the website of Latvia's unified gas transmission and storage operator Conexus Baltic Grid (Conexus).

Nominations for 26,500 megawatt hours (MWh) of gas from Russia to Latvia were approved on Monday, which means that participants of the system have informed what volume of gas they would like to receive at the given point, but there have been no actual gas deliveries from Russia, Conexus representatives said.

s still flowed to Latvia via the the gas metering station Izborsk, Russia, last Friday, July 29, but no further gas flows were registered on Saturday, July 30, or Sunday, July 31.

The last uninterrupted time period when Latvia received gas from Russia was from July 21 to 29. The actual capacity used over that time was 660,000 MWh.
