Latvia Posts Fastest Economic Growth in the Baltics in 2018

RIGA, Feb 28 (LETA) - Last year, Latvia posted the fastest gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the Baltic countries, according to the Central Statistical Bureau's data.

As reported, in 2018 the Latvian economy grew by 4.8 percent against 2017 in constant prices, according to seasonally and calendar unadjusted data. Estonia's GDP increased 3.9 percent and Lithuania's growth amounted to 3.5 percent.

Economic growth in Latvia has been the fastest in the Baltics for the fourt consecutive quarters.

In the first quarter of 2018, Latvia's GDP increased 4 percent year on year, while Lithuanian economy rose 3.7 percent and Estonian economy grew 3.3 percent. In the second quarter, Latvia's GDP rose 5.3 percent, economic growth in...
