Latvia, Azerbaijan to cooperate in environmental protection and climate change mitigation

RIGA, May 20 (LETA) - Latvia will cooperate with Azerbaijan in environmental protection and climate change mitigation, according to a cooperation program signed today by Environmental Protection and Regional Development Minister Arturs Tomas Pless (Development/For) and Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mukhtar Babayev.
ccording to Pless' advisor Miks Strazdins, a two-year inter-ministerial cooperation program was signed today. The program describes cooperation in climate change mitigation, sharing scientific and technological experience, emissions monitoring system, also cooperation in waste management and water management.
