Karins to meet with interior minister and coalition partners immediately after returning from Canada

RIGA, May 12 (LETA) - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) plans to meet with Interior Minister Marija Golubeva (For Development) and coalition partners immediately after he arrives back from a working trip to Canada, LETA was told by the Office of the Prime Minister.

In a press releases, the prime minister states that understanding the concerns of representatives of the parties forming the government and the public regarding the events of May 9 and May 10 at Victory Park, Karins reiterates that what happened at the Victory Park monument, showing disrespect for Latvia's statehood, historical experience and the victims of the war in Ukraine cannot be justified and the recurrence of such situations is unacceptable.

The prime minister emphasizes that the most important issue at the moment is the strengthening of the country's internal and external security, therefore these issues are the highest priority on his agenda.
