Increase of shadow economy in Latvia is slower than in Lithuania, Estonia - professor

RIGA, May 16 (LETA) - According to the latest study on shadow economy, in 2021, increase of shadow economy in Latvia was slower than in Lithuania and Estonia, said Arnis Sauka, director of the Sustainable Business Center of the Riga School of Economics (SSE Riga), in an interview with the Latvian public radio today.

He said that in 2020, shadow economy in Latvia accounted for 25.5 percent, and it rose in 2021, but, according to the authors of the study, slower than in Lithuania and Estonia.

Latvia's shadow economy has reached about EUR 2.7 billion.
