Hokeja Akademija to organize Riga group tournament of 2023 Hockey World Championship

TAMPERE (Finland), May 27 (LETA) - Latvia's Hokeja Akademija (Hockey Academy) will organize the Riga group tournament of the 2023 Hockey World Championship under the leadership of Edgars Buncis, Aigars Kalvitis, President of the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) told LETA.

s reported, The Annual Congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided during a meeting in Finland on Friday that the 2023 Hockey World Championship would be co-hosted by Riga and Tampere, Finland. The championship will take place from May 12 to 28, 2023.

It was also reported that Hungary withdrew its bid to organize the 2023 championships together with Slovenia, therefore the joint Latvian/Finnish bid was the only bid remaining.
