Forest Fund of SG Capital invests over EUR 10 million in Latvia

RIGA, July 21 (LETA) - The Forest Fund managed by SG Capital has invested over EUR 10 million in Latvia over three months, from May to mid-July, purchasing 2,000 hectares of property, the fund's manager Normunds Caklis informed LETA.

round 80 percent of the properties purchased in Latvia are forest lands and 20 percent are agricultural and other land properties.

The fund has acquired both larger forest "portfolios" and separate properties all over Latvia, mainly in Vidzeme and Latgale.

The price per hectare was in the range from EUR 3,000 to EUR 7,000, depending on the wood stock and other parameters.

The fund's total investments are expected to exceed EUR 70 million in the next coming years. The fund might consider buying investing...
