Foreign minister to start official visit to Australia

RIGA, Aug 3 (LETA) - Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) is due to make an official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia from August 3 to 8, the Foreign Ministry informed.
ustralia and Latvia are like-minded countries, and Australia is a close partner of NATO, the ministry said.
During his visit in Australia, Rinkevics will open an Embassy of Latvia in Canberra, the first resident Latvian embassy in the Pacific.
