RIGA, May 20 (LETA) - Finland's and Sweden's accession to NATO meets interests of the alliance, the Baltic states, and also Turkey, LETA learned from Latvian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Janis Bekeris.

Turkey has blocked the accession talks for Finland and Sweden, according to sources of the alliance, agency reported. Thus, NATO cannot make the planned decision on starting the accession process.

Bekeris said that Latvia supports Finland's and Sweden's accession to NATO as soon as possible. "There are internal discussions about the negotiations...
