Eurogroup also Approves Latvia's 2019 Budget

RIGA, March 12 (LETA) - The informal council of the European Union's (EU) finance ministers, or the Eurogroup, has approved Latvia's draft budget for 2019, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) told media representatives Tuesday.

Latvia had to get its 2019 budget approved by the European Commission and the Eurogroup. The European Commission approved Latvia's 2019 budget last week, acknowledging its general compliance with the Stability and Growth Pact.

The Eurogroup approved Latvia's draft budget for this year on Monday, agreeing with the European Commission's assessment that the budget is in line with EU requirements.
