Estonian Refugee Council receives USD 1 million donation from Taipei Mission in Latvia

TALLINN, May 19 (LETA--BNS) - The Estonian Refugee Council signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday with the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, which is supporting the Refugee Council's activities in Estonia geared at assisting Ukrainian refugees with one million US dollars.

The Estonian non-profit organization will use the support to conduct group counseling sessions and organize its counseling services both at the office of the Refugee Council as well as across Estonia as needed. The activities will be conducted until the end of January 2023.

Representative of the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia Andrew H. C. Lee said that international cooperation and people helping one another is crucial during difficult times.

"We must show empathy and solidarity to overcome the difficulties together," he said.

The donation is a joint contribution by the people and government of Taiwan to support the people of Ukraine.
