Estonian parlt speaker off to visit to Finland

President of the Riigikogu Juri Ratas was scheduled to make a one-day visit to Helsinki on Tuesday to express his support for Finland's accession to NATO.

Ratas said according to spokespeople that Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine has irreversibly changed the security situation in Europe.

"Estonia firmly supports the swift accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO. We are ready for a swift negotiation process and ratification of the agreements without delay. This would be a major step that will strengthen the security of the entire Baltic Sea region," the speaker of the Estonian parliament said.

In Helsinki, Ratas will meet with speaker of the parliament Matti Vanhanen, vice-speakers Antti Rinne and Juho Eerola, leader of the Finland-Estonia parliamentary group Mikko Savola and chairman of the...
