Estonia posts 19.1 pct HICP inflation for April

TALLINN, May 17, BNS - The Estonian harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased 19.1 percent on year in April, it appears from data published by Statistics Estonia.

Compared to March 2022, the harmonized index increased by 4.1 percent.

Year on year, dwelling expenditures rose the most in April, by 63.2 percent. Expenditures related to transport followed with an annual growth rate of 23.6 percent, while the index for education and facilities for children rose by 21.9 percent.

The index for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 14.5 percent, while the index for household expenditures rose 12.7 percent and the index for eating out and accommodation climbed 12.3 percent.
