Eesti Gaas CEO: Paldiski LNG terminal essential for giving up Russian gas

TALLINN, May 17, BNS - Margus Kaasik, chairman of the management board of privately-owned Estonian energy company Eesti Gaas, said that the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through the Klaipeda terminal in Lithuania will enable the current gas consumption to be serviced during the summer months, but in the future the Paldiski terminal will be indispensable for ensuring gas supply and giving up Russian gas in the region.

"During the heating season, gas consumption will increase sharply and the reception capacity of the Klaipeda terminal will not be sufficient for the entire Finnish-Baltic market.
