Drop in Latvia's retail trade in June was smaller than EU's average - Eurostat

RIGA, Aug 3 (LETA) - In June 2022, retail trade in Latvia declined 0.8 percent from the same period a year ago, which is less than the average retail trade drop recorded across the European Union's (EU), according to Eurostat's latest retail trade data on 25 of the bloc's member states.

Compared to June 2021, retail trade slowed in 13 EU member states reporting their data for June 2022. The biggest reduction was recorded in Denmark (-9.5 percent), followed by Ireland and Germany (-8.8 percent in each country), as well as the Netherlands (-6.1 percent).

In Lithuania, retail sales fell 3.5 percent year-on-year and Estonia recorded a decrease of 1 percent. The...
