Dredging works for construction of LNG terminal completed in Paldiski

TALLINN, May 30 (LETA--BNS) - Dredging of the seabed at the top of Pakri peninsula in Lahepere Bay for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to be built by Alexela and Infortar in Paldiski was completed last Friday.

The dredging work in Lahepere Bay lasted a total of 10 days and was carried out by the vessel Pedro Alvares Cabral, which is owned by the Belgian company Jan de Nul, Alexela and Infortar said.

"The sea is now ready to receive large ships, as the next step we will start the construction of the mooring quay next week, the construction of which will be completed by Sept. 1. As the dredging work went faster than planned, we are still confident as regards our part and even slightly ahead of schedule," Martti Talgre, CEO of Infortar, said.
