Dozens of police officers patrol Victory Park this morning

RIGA, May 9 (LETA) - Dozens of police officers are patrolling Victory Park in Riga's Pardaugava this morning, LETA observed.

There are multiple law enforcement officers near the monument to Soviet soldiers, which has been cordoned off, and elsewhere in the park.

Flowers have been placed in several places in the fence surrounding the monument. People move past the monument, but there have been no gatherings.

The situation in the park remains calm.

s reported, police are ready to deal with any situation on May 9, State Police chief Armands Ruks told members of the Security, Public Order and Corruption Prevention Committee of Riga City Council on Friday.
